A Mt. Pleasant man has been cited with leaving the scene of an accident after a hit-and-run on Wednesday.
The Mt. Pleasant Police Department responded to a report of a hit-and-run on Wednesday, Feb. 25, 2015, at approximately 4:30 p.m. at the intersection of Jackson and Washington Street.
According to police reports, a 2015 Mazda, driven by Angela Rodgers, was traveling south on Jackson Street and stopped at the stop sign. Brian Farmer, who was driving a 2006 Chrysler, was traveling west on Washington Street when he attempted to turn right onto Jackson Street. Farmer had been traveling too fast for the road conditions and slid into the passenger side rear quarter panel of Rodger?s vehicle, causing an estimated $1,400 in damage.
Farmer left the scene. He was followed to a residence in Mt. Pleasant.
No injuries were reported. Farmer was cited for failure to maintain control, failure to have a valid driver?s license, failure to prove security against liability and leaving the scene of an accident.
