Hobbs picks up 170 yards in IWC football loss to Taylor
Receiver Ridge Hobbs had six catches for 170 yards and scored both of the IWC football team?s touchdowns in a 41-14 loss to Taylor University on Saturday.
Taylor scored twice before IWC got on the board with Kevin McConnell?s 80-yard touchdown pass to Hobbs in the first quarter. Micah Slifer?s kick was good to get the Tigers within seven at 14-7.

Receiver Ridge Hobbs had six catches for 170 yards and scored both of the IWC football team?s touchdowns in a 41-14 loss to Taylor University on Saturday.
Taylor scored twice before IWC got on the board with Kevin McConnell?s 80-yard touchdown pass to Hobbs in the first quarter. Micah Slifer?s kick was good to get the Tigers within seven at 14-7.
But the Trojans ran away with the game from there, scoring three more touchdowns and two field goals before McConnell connected with Hobbs once more on a touchdown pass, this time for 18 yards. Slifer?s kick was good.
McConnell was 13-for-25 for 221 yards passing.
On the ground, IWC was led by Daniel Veal with 23 net yards rushing.
The Tiger defense was led by Zachary Ray, who had 12 tackles, five unassisted. Duane Lee had a team-high six unassisted tackles.
IWC is now 1-2 on the season. Next up for the Tigers is a home game against Lindenwood University-Belleville. That game will start at 1 p.m. at Mapleleaf Athletic Complex.
