Holiday prompts closures

In observance of the Thanksgiving Day holiday Thursday, several government offices and businesses will be closed.

Fairfield city, Jefferson County, state and federal government offices will be closed Thursday and Friday. Fairfield offices will close early at 1 p.m. Wednesday.

Mail will not be delivered Thursday.

Area senior meal sites will be closed Thursday and Friday.

Waste Management will not collect garbage. Collection will be delayed one day and resume Friday.

The Fairfield Public Library will be closed Thursday and Friday and will close at 1 p.m. Wednesday.

The Ledger will not be published Thursday.

The Roosevelt Recreation Center will be closed Thursday. It will be open 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. Friday.

Fairfield schools are closed Wednesday through Friday.

Call ahead to check if other offices and businesses will be open.
