Holiday Wednesday will close offices, services

New Year?s Day, Wednesday, is a national holiday.

The U. S. Post Office will be closed Wednesday and there is no mail delivery.

Jefferson County Courthouse will be closed Wednesday.

Fairfield City Hall will close at noon Tuesday and re-open for regular hours Thursday.

Fairfield Public Library is closing early, at 5 p.m. Tuesday and will be closed Wednesday, opening at regular hours again Thursday.

Roosevelt Community Recreation Center will be open 6 a.m. to 5 p.m. Tuesday and 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. New Year?s Day. Fitness classes will resume Jan. 6.

Waste Management is closed Wednesday, and all garbage pickup Wednesday and the rest of the week is one day later than normal.

The senior center will be closed Tuesday and Wednesday, with no meals served on site.

The Fairfield Ledger is closed Wednesday, with no newspaper published on New Year?s Day.
