Hunters find stolen deer statue
MORAVIA (AP) ? Officials say hunters found a large solid bronze deer statue that was stolen in June from some property near Moravia in southern Iowa.
The Appanoose County sheriff?s office said the statue, which weighs about 1,500 pounds, was discovered about 30 miles away near Brown Slough in Lucas County.
The statue, called ?Swamp Jumpers,? depicts a large buck and doe. It?s 6 feet tall and 8 feet wide.

The Appanoose County sheriff?s office said the statue, which weighs about 1,500 pounds, was discovered about 30 miles away near Brown Slough in Lucas County.
The statue, called ?Swamp Jumpers,? depicts a large buck and doe. It?s 6 feet tall and 8 feet wide.
Appanoose County Sheriff Gary Anderson says he was contacted by the Iowa Department of Natural Resources, which received a tip that hunters spotted the statue.
The statue, valued at over $25,000, was found in good shape. No arrests have been reported.
