Hy-Vee welcomes new store director

After 15 years with Hy-Vee, Tim Mansfield has landed the position of Store Director in Mt. Pleasant after beginning his career as a general merchandise clerk in Kirksville, Mo.

?It was really neat to see the amount of pride that the (Mt. Pleasant) community takes in their town. The downtown district is exceptional for Iowa, it?s really neat to see that,? said Mansfield.

?I?m absolutely thrilled,? Mansfield said about being the store director. Speaking of the employees in Mt. Pleasant he said, ?They have been very welcoming; they?re an incredible group of people.?

He also applauded the facility.

He explained that with every store there is a chance for change and additions and he is keeping his eyes open for such opportunities. ?We want to serve the community. We want to be involved in the community, so we want to be looking for a lot of opportunities,? said the store director.

He is looking forward to experiencing his first ever Old Threshers Reunion this Labor Day weekend.

Mansfield is from Houston, Texas and is most recently from the Quad Cities.

?My family is originally from Kirksville, Mo. I started with Hy-Vee there and then transferred throughout the company,? said Mansfield. ?I went from Kirksville, Mo., to Lincoln, Neb., and then I went to the Quad Cities in Milan and then here.?

Mansfield took the helm in Mt. Pleasant in May.

He graduated from the company?s Operations Program in Lincoln, Neb.

When he isn?t at Hy-Vee, he enjoys working out and reading, particularly science fiction.
