On Saturday, March 7, the Mt. Pleasant Police Department also responded to reports of a two-vehicle accident on Jefferson Street in front of Hy-Vee Drug.
According to complaint report, a 2001 Ford operated by Margaret Mountz had been traveling south on Jefferson Street. The Mountz vehicle stopped at a red light. While waiting for traffic, Mountz?s vehicle was struck by a 1996 Saturn operated by Michael Taylor. Taylor had been backing out of a parking space.
No injuries were reported and damage to both vehicles was minimal. Taylor was cited for failure to prove security against liability.
