InMotion named grand champion

Mt. Pleasant High School?s show choir InMotion came home with the grand championship trophy Saturday night after placing first in the finals of the Central Lee Invitational.

InMotion placed second in the preliminary round, behind Keokuk, in class 3A. The groups with the six highest scores competed again in the evening finals, with Mt. Pleasant outscoring Keokuk to win the overall title.

Mt. Pleasant received caption awards for Best Band and Best Vocals. InMotion?s Meagan Sutherland was named Best Female Soloist and Dalton Krum Best Male Soloist. Judges named one individual from each group as a Star Performer and Qian Qian Ye received that honor for Mt. Pleasant.

Next Saturday InMotion and the middle school show choir Chain Reaction will be competing at the Ft. Madison Invitational at Ft. Madison High School. Chain Reaction is scheduled to perform at 1:30 pm and InMotion at 2:45 pm.
