Across the state, Iowa's confirmed COVID-19 case number is approaching 4,000.
On Thursday, there were 176 new confirmed cases of COVID-19, bringing the state total up to 3,924.
Locally, there were no new confirmed cases in Washington, Henry or Jefferson Counties on Thursday.
Throughout Iowa, there were six additional deaths on Thursday due to COVID-19. Those who died were located in Bremer, Muscatine and Polk Counties. Polk County had four deaths while Bremer and Muscatine each had one. The total number of COVID-19-related deaths in the state is now 96.
In her Thursday news conference, Gov. Kim Reynolds said that 85% of Iowa's deaths have been among elderly adults and 51% of Iowa's confirmed COVID-19 cases have been residents of long-term care facilities.
Reynolds also said there was one new outbreak in a long-term care facility, bringing the state's number of long-term care facility outbreaks up to 12. The newest outbreak is at ManorCare Health Services in Linn County where seven people have tested positive for COVID-19.
Locally, McCreedy Home in Washington County is the only long-term care facility outbreak in the Tri-County area. The facility has had 26 confirmed cases of COVID-19 thus far.
During her Thursday news conference, Reynolds also pointed out that since its launch on Tuesday, 121,000 Iowans have completed the TestIowa assessment.
The goal of TestIowa is to increase COVID-19 testing across the state Reynolds and TestIowa's website said. Drive-through testing sites will be set up around the state in the coming weeks, with the first one opening in Des Moines on Saturday.
The drive-through locations for TestIowa will be able to accommodate up to 3,000 more tests per day than the state is currently conducting.
As of Thursday, a total of 29,252 Iowans have been tested for COVID-19 and 1,492 have recovered from the virus.
