Iowa Arts Council invites award nominations
The Iowa Arts Council, a division of the Iowa Department of Cultural Affairs, is seeking nominations for the Governor?s Arts Awards recognizing and honoring individuals, organizations and businesses in Iowa that have had a significant impact on the vitality of the arts in Iowa.
The awards will be presented at the 2014 Iowa Arts Summit on June 6 in Des Moines.

The Iowa Arts Council, a division of the Iowa Department of Cultural Affairs, is seeking nominations for the Governor?s Arts Awards recognizing and honoring individuals, organizations and businesses in Iowa that have had a significant impact on the vitality of the arts in Iowa.
The awards will be presented at the 2014 Iowa Arts Summit on June 6 in Des Moines.
Nominations for the Governor?s Arts Awards must be submitted by April 30 at www.iowaartssummit.com/get-involved.
Individuals may submit nominations for any/all of the following award categories:
? Public Art Leadership Award: Recognizes an individual, organization or business that demonstrates leadership and commitment to developing public art in Iowa.
? Collaboration and Partnership in the Arts Award: Recognizes an individual, organization or business that undertakes an artistic cooperation that brings together diverse partners from within and beyond the arts community in Iowa.
? Excellence and Innovation in the Arts Award: Recognizes an individual, organization or business that is dedicated to artistic excellence and capitalizes on new or emerging methods or trends in the arts
? Impact and Accessibility in the Arts Award: Recognizes an individual, organization or business that initiates a community-wide artistic undertaking that is broad in scope and seeks to serve a significant amount of Iowans; or, that seeks to improve accessibility to the arts for an underserved target population in Iowa.
The Governor?s Arts Awards will be presented at the 2014 Iowa Arts Summit.
This day-long, conference-style event is June 6 in Des Moines at the Iowa Events Center to elevate the arts field in Iowa through professional development and networking opportunities for arts-related professionals.
The summit includes breakout sessions, performances by Iowa artists, lunch and the day?s closing event, presentation of the Governor?s Arts Awards.
Early-bird registration for the Iowa Arts Summit is open at a discounted price of $30 per registrant.
Full registration will open on April 1 for $45 per registrant, at which time the agenda and presenter lineup will be announced.
