IOWA CITY ? The Mt. Pleasant freshman girls? basketball team fell by a score of 38-9 in a road game at Iowa City West on Thursday.
?Iowa City West came out in a very aggressive man-to-man defense,? Mt. Pleasant Coach Ted Mountz said. ?We got very few offensive rebounds, and it gave them high-percentage shots. We gave up 18 of those 39 points in transition.?

It was the Panthers? first loss of the season; they are now 2-1.
Carolyn Lutovsky put up a team-high four points for Mt. Pleasant in the game.
Delayna Cotton had three points, and Megan Schumacher scored two.
The Panthers play again tonight (Friday) at Ft. Madison, kicking off a freshmen/JV/varsity tripleheader that starts at 4:45 p.m.
