Iowa DNR releases fishing report
Lake Geode
Water temperature remains in the upper 50s. The back and forth weather patterns are changing the bite from day to day. Bluegill ? fair: a few bluegills and some nice redears are being caught along the flats next to some of the sharp drop-offs. Crappie ? good: the crappies are out in about eight feet of water around the cedar tree piles also work the ledges on the north side of the lake.

Lake Belva Deer
Water temperature is into the mid to upper 50s. Bluegill ? good: bluegills are being caught out along the jetties on the north side of the lake around the jetties and around the trees in the sunshine. Crappie ? good: crappie fishing remains very good on the warmer days. They are still catching them on the colder days but they seem to be deeper and more scattered.
Lake of the Hills
The fall trout release was be 10:30 a.m., Oct. 20, by the boat ramp. Bluegill ? good: bluegill fishing remains good along the stumps and logs between the boat ramp and the beach along the north shore. Crappie ? good: anglers continue to pick up crappies along the face of the dam, around the brush piles around the fishing pier.
Wilson Lake
The fall trout release at Wilson Lake will be on Nov. 3 at 1 p.m. Bluegill ? good: look to the brush piles for bluegills. The water is clear enough that you can see most of the fish habitat from shore.
Environmental Discovery Park North Pond
The fall trout release at Discovery Park pond in Muscatine will be on Nov. 3 at 10 a.m.
Big Hollow Lake
Water temperature is around 56 to 59 degrees depending on the time of day. Crappie ? good: crappies can be caught out in about six to eight feet of water in the trees around the old creek channel. On the sunny days, a good spot to try is around the islands at the lower end of the lake when the sun warms up the rock.
