Iowa DOT communications in process of being restored

AMES, Iowa ? May 9, 2012: 4 p.m. ? Communications at the Iowa Department of Transportation are being restored following a temporary outage that started around 1 p.m. today. Services are now available at a majority of locations (Iowa DOT and county treasurers? offices) statewide; however, temporary interruptions may continue to occur throughout the day as service is restored.

Customer services that were affected ? issuance of driver?s licenses, vehicle registration and motor carrier permitting ? are coming back online. Where feasible, the Iowa DOT recommends that persons needing these services wait until Thursday.
