Iowa has over 10,000 total COVID-19 cases, 200+ deaths

Tuesday was the deadliest day for Iowa since COVID-19 was first reported in the state.
At her news conference on Tuesday, Gov. Kim Reynolds said that 19 additional Iowans had died due to the virus, bringing the total number of deaths in Iowa to 207.
The state saw 408 new confirmed cases on Tuesday, bringing the total up to 10,111 cases.
Reynolds said nearly 80% of Tuesday's cases came from the 22 counties where full restrictions are still in place through May 15. She added that 261 of Tuesday's new cases reported are among residents of Polk and Woodbury counties. 56% of Iowans who have died from COVID-19 since the virus was first reported in the state were residents of long-term care facilities.
Six of Tuesday's deaths were residents of Linn County, a county that has seen 53 deaths due to COVID-19 so far. Black Hawk and Tama counties had three deaths each on Tuesday, Polk and Dallas Counties had two deaths each and Allamakee, Jasper and Woodbury counties had one death each.
Of the total number of deaths in Iowa so far, 95 were elderly adults (aged 81+) and 83 were older adults (aged 61-80).
Overall, 60,569 Iowans have been testing according to Iowa Department of Public Health data. 3,522 Iowans have recovered so far.
Locally, Henry County saw three new cases, bringing the county total to 37. Washington and Jefferson counties had no new cases on Tuesday, keeping the counties' totals at 149 and six respectively.
