Iowa police stop looking into altered tests

DAVENPORT (AP) ? Authorities investigating testing irregularities at a Davenport elementary school say no criminal charges will be filed because they can't figure out who altered the tests.
Scott County Attorney Mike Walton announced Friday that too many people at Madison Elementary School had access to the tests after they were completed earlier this year. As a result, he said ?additional investigation would be futile.?
The Quad-City Times reports Walton said all the people interviewed during the investigation denied wrongdoing.
The Davenport Community School District discovered in February a high percentage of erasures toward correct answers on reading and math portions of the 2013 Iowa Assessments given to third through fifth graders.
Walton said their decision does not affect a separate investigation by the state Department of Education.
