The Iowa Property Tax Credit Claim Form, the Iowa Special Assessment Credit Claim Form, and the Iowa Mobile/Manufactured Homeowner Application for Reduced Tax Rate Form are now available at the office of the Henry County Treasurer.
The forms can be found on the Iowa Department of Revenue website tax.iowa.gov/forms. The forms were mailed out to certain residents in Henry County that either inquired or may be eligible.
“People that own their own home, that are 65 years or older and have a limited income may be eligible,” said Henry County Treasurer Ana Lair. “Or people that are totally disabled and have a limited income may also be eligible for the reduced tax rate.”
“We are trying to reach out to folks that may qualify,” said Lair. “We have sent the forms out to people that have filed before, and to those that have inquired during the year. Those forms are mailed directly to them.”
Residents with a total household income less than $24,354.00 may be eligible for these credits. Additionally, for this year there is a new step in the process for those age 70 or older.
Note that the claim must be filed with the county treasurer on or before June 1, 2022. For additional information, please contact the Henry County Treasurer’s Office at 319-385-0763 or email treasurer@henrycountyiowa.us.
