Iowa had its new biggest one-day jump of confirmed COVID-19 cases so far.
The state saw 521 new cases, with the majority of them coming from Black Hawk County, the site of a Tyson meatpacking plant outbreak.
The new cases across the state brings Iowa's total up to 4,445 confirmed cases of COVID-19.
There have been an additional 11 deaths, the highest one-day total so far as well.
Locally, Washington County has 131 cases, Henry County has 31 cases and Jefferson County has six cases according to Friday's data from the Iowa Department of Public Health.
During her Friday news conference, Gov. Kim Reynolds said the large jump in cases is due to elevated levels of testing. Reynolds said as of Friday that one out of 98 Iowans have been tested across the state.
Reynolds also announced that starting on Monday, Iowa's health care systems can begin to offering non-essential and elective surgeries. She is also allowing farmers markets to operate with limitations. Reynolds said she would have more details about her first-phase of reopening the state.
