Iowa Wesleyan breaks 19 percent positivity

MT. PLEASANT - Iowa Wesleyan University currently reports a 19.1 percent positivity rate on its campus following tests conducted the week of Nov. 2.
The university's positivty rate reflects the positivity rate of the county as a whole. According to the state's coronavirus website, Henry County has a 19.1 percent positivity rate across a 14-day period.
Of the 68 tests conducted the week of Nov. 2, the university saw an additional 20 campus members test positive - 11 students and nine faculty and staff members.
With 20 positive tests, the week produced the second most positives tests the university has recorded since reopening. During the week of Aug. 23, the university reported 21 postive tests.
Since the campus reopened in early August, the university has conducted 805 tests with 154 total positive tests. As of 3 p.m. on Monday, five isolation spaces are in use.
