Iowa Wesleyan recognized as a best college in Midwest

MT. PLEASANT - Iowa Wesleyan University was recognized as a Best College in the Midwest in the 2021 U.S. News and World Report.
According to the U.S. News website, the university was in the #58-#76 rankings for Regional Colleges Midwest and was recognized as #72 in Top Performers on Social Mobility. This is the third consecutive year the university has been ranked and recognized in the report.
The university was recognized for its diverse campus and ranked sixth for ethnic diversity and second for number of international students across regional colleges in the Midwest with over 30 countries represented by its student body. The university was also ranked sixth in the Midwest for economic diversity and is the only college in Iowa to be ranked in the category.
In the 2020 report, the university was ranked No. 1 for all Regional Midwest Colleges for its international student population and No. 1 in Iowa for ethnic diversity.
'Having our university recognized as one of the best in the Midwest reflects our commitment to fostering a student-centered community and providing an outstanding education that is accessible and affordable,” Christine Plunkett, university president, said in a statement from Iowa Wesleyan.
'We are extremely proud of the students we serve, and we remain committed to our diverse campus. Rankings such as these validate our commitment to excellent educational experiences that prepare students to lead meaningful lives and careers,” she added.
