Iowa Wesleyan sees additional 14 positive COVID-19 tests

MT. PLEASANT - An additional 12 students and two faculty and staff members from Iowa Wesleyan University have tested positive for the coronavirus.
According to the university's COVID-19 dashboard, in the week of Sept. 6, 44 tests were conducted resulting in 14 positive tests. Currently, 12 of the 55 isolation beds the university has available are in use.
From the beginning of August when Iowa Wesleyan reopened its campus, the university has conducted a total of 396 tests, with 54 students and six faculty and staff testing positive. Overall the university has a 15.4 percent positivity rate, an increase from the 14.7 percent rate following testing done in the week of Aug. 30.
