Iowa Wesleyan University recently received notice that Accredited Schools Online ranked IW as a best online college in Iowa.
AccreditedSchoolsOnline.org (ASO), a leading resource for online learning and college affordability information, has released its ranking for the 2015-2016 Best Online Colleges for Iowa.
According to a recent study by the Babson Survey Research Group, over 100,000 undergraduate students in Iowa are enrolled exclusively in distance education courses.
?Iowa Wesleyan University is honored to receive the recent recognition from Accredited Schools Online,? said Dr. DeWayne Frazier, vice president for academic affairs. ?Accredited Schools Online reviews a strong list of potential metrics to evaluate programs that each uniquely measure quality. Wesleyan faculty and staff have spent significant time over the last few years developing our online programs to be academically sound and rigorous. This recognition is a tribute to the tireless efforts of the Iowa Wesleyan team and their dedication to high quality, affordable and flexible education.?
?We wanted to recognize schools that are implementing convenient and cutting-edge technological learning opportunities to all students,? said Doug Jones, CEO and Founder of Accredited Schools Online.
?These schools are not only offering exceptional programs, but they have expanded their program excellence to the much-desired online environment.?
Ranked schools meet a number of criteria and metrics, including: must offer an associate?s degree or higher; must be a public or private, not-for-profit institution; and must offer at least one fully-online associate?s degree program.
Accredited Schools Online has distinguished its ranking scale by the use of Peer-Based Value, or PBV. The PBV score compares the cost of each program to the cost of similar programs with the same qualitative score.
AccreditedSchoolsOnline.org (ASO) began in 2011 to provide quality data and information about pursuing an affordable, quality education. Their free community resource materials and tools span topics such as financial aid and college savings, opportunities for veterans and people with disabilities, and online learning resources. They feature higher education institutions that have developed online learning environments that include highly trained faculty, new technology and resources, and online support services to help students achieve educational and career success. They have been featured by nearly 700 postsecondary institutions and nearly 100 government organizations.
