A Muscatine man has been given 25 years in prison for another sex abuse conviction.
In September a jury found 25-year-old Matthew Villalpando guilty of having sex with a 14-year-old person in October 2010. He was sentenced on Thursday by Judge Mark Cleve.
Prosecutors say Villalpando was given the lengthy sentence because he was previously convicted of sexual abuse.
Iowa law says he must serve 85 percent of his sentence before being eligible for parole.
Muscatine County Attorney Alan Ostergren says Villalpando ?is a dangerous sex offender.?
