ISU Extension and Outreach holding farm tax and accounting workshop

The Henry County ISU Extension and Outreach will be hosting a Farm Tax and Accounting Workshop on Wednesday, Dec. 1 from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m.
The workshop will be held at the Henry County Extension Office in Mt. Pleasant at 127 North Main Street.
With tax season, being just around the corner, ISU Extension and Outreach — Henry County is hoping to help both inform and prepare farmers during the season.
An abundance of topics related to farm tax and accounting will be covered during the workshop.
Iowa State Extension and Outreach Farm Management Specialist Charles Brown will cover topics with include:
- Record Keeping for income tax preparation
- What are W2, W4, W9 and I9 forms?
- When do you need to send 1099 forms in?
- Schedule F income versus ordinary and capital gain income.
- Depreciation rules for 2021
- What to look for in purchasing a farm accounting program
A preview will also be given over accounting programs Quick Books and PC Mars.
The workshop is free-for-all participant, but preregistration is required to ensure there is enough space for everyone.
