Ivan Parrish
Ivan A. Parrish, 101, of Mount Sterling, died at 2:40 a.m. Tuesday, May 24, 2005, at Van Buren Good Samaritan Center in Keosauqua, where he had resided since October 2003.
A graveside service is scheduled for 2 p.m. Friday in Harness Cemetery in Mount Sterling, with the Rev. Bryon Wixom officiating.
Visitation will be from 4-8 p.m. Thursday at Pedrick Funeral Home in Keosauqua.

Mr. Parrish was born July 18, 1903, in Knox City, Mo., the son of Hosea Sylvester and Maggie Goodson Parrish. He married Ola Beckert Nov. 2, 1926, in Edina, Mo. She died Sept. 16, 2004.
He lived in Knox County, Mo., until he moved to a farm near Mount Sterling where the couple worked together for 60 years.
He played the fiddle and harmonica for dances and other community functions.
Survivors include one grandson, Larry Joe Parrish of Virginia Beach, Va.; one granddaughter-in-law, Connie Parrish of Keosauqua; five great-grandchildren; and nine great-great-grandchildren.
In addition to his wife, he was preceded in death by one son, Charles Parrish; two grandsons; and five brothers.
