IWC Student Nurses Association hosts Girl Scout nursing health day event

On Saturday, Oct. 8, the Iowa Wesleyan College nursing students welcomed a group of Girl Scouts to the college and gave a program entiled ?Your Body.? This involved teaching the girls about various health topics, including first aid, healthy nutrition, physical fitness, personal hygiene and how the body works. The nursing students held half-hour teaching sessions and activities related to each of these health topics. The Girl Scouts had a fun morning of learning and some even voiced an interest in pursuing a future in nursing. This event also counted as a service learning project for the IWC nursing students.
