WASHINGTON — IowaWORKS Development Business Marketing Specialist Chris Kula started in the position six months ago. The position covers seven counties, including Washington, where his main purpose is to work with employers and prospective employees.
“Every county is a little bit different, but every county has similar needs,” Kula said. “We’re kind of a one-stop shop in the sense that people can come and look for jobs … we do resume help, cover letters, you name it, we can pretty much provide it.”
Kula spent part of last week in Washington, meeting mostly with employers struggling to fill positions. Many of those meetings were first introductions, this time around.
“I just like getting out, putting names with faces, talking and seeing what issues and concerns employers have in the area,” he said. “I always try to make effort for the employers because I know they need help and that’s what I’m here for.”
