Jefferson County supervisors passed a reimbursement resolution Friday afternoon to fund construction of a $3.77 million county jail/law enforcement center.
The resolution allows county government officials to establish a fund in the county budget to deposit local-option sales tax proceeds to cover expenses for construction of the new law enforcement facility. The supervisors also agreed to use an interim-financing package from Ruan Securities Corp. to pay about $100,000 in bills for initial planning and site work for a new county jail/law enforcement center.
Members of the Jefferson County Service Agency met with bonding attorney R. Mark Cory and Tom Mehl, president of Ruan Securities Corp., Friday to work out details of the financing package to fund construction.
