James Walter Ellison, 68, of Mediapolis, died on Monday, Aug. 17, 2015, at his home.
A memorial service will be held on Saturday, Oct. 24, at 3 p.m., in the community room of the Mediapolis City Hall, located at 510 Main Street. On Sunday, Nov. 1, the Scouts will hold an open house in Ellison?s memory in Eastman Lodge, at Camp Eastman, from 1 to 5 p.m.

James Walter Ellison, 68, of Mediapolis, died on Monday, Aug. 17, 2015, at his home.

Ellison was born on Aug. 11, 1947, the son of Walter M. and Bette Morrow. He attended Mediapolis schools and studied business at the University of Iowa. In 1970, he joined the U.S. Army, and served with the 328th Radio Research Company, providing surveillance of North Viet Nam and Cuba until l972.
He was employed in various business capacities in the Burlington and Mediapolis areas including banking, business machines, advertising and print media.
He enjoyed volunteering at Camp Eastman and with the Boy Scouts of America.
