FAIRFIELD – The Jefferson County 4-H Fundraising Committee is inviting the public to a pair of gift-wrapping events happening on Tuesday, Dec. 12 and Friday, Dec. 22.
Both events will be from 4-7 p.m. at the Jefferson County Fairgrounds.
Committee members raise funds for 4-H by offering to wrap Christmas gifts. The committee takes a free-will offering, so the public is invited to pay what they can for the gift-wrapping. Money raised will go to support all 4-H members in Jefferson County.
Hilary Lanman, 4-H County Youth Coordinator for Jefferson County, said this is the committee’s third year of hosting a gift-wrapping event.
“If you’re not a good wrapper or you don’t like to wrap, just have our 4-H Fundraising Committee wrap the gifts, and they’ll put a bow on it so it will look nice underneath your tree,” Lanman said.
Lanman said the committee hosts the event on multiple days to give the public more opportunities to participate.
“And if those two dates don’t work, people can drop off packages anytime during our office hours and we’ll have the committee wrap them,” Lanman said.
The ISU Extension office is open 8 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. Monday through Thursday.
Lanman said the events normally attract about 10 committee members and their children wrapping gifts together. Some of the programs supported by this fundraiser include the 4-H awards banquet and 4-H clinics.
