Jefferson County Fair Parade rolls through Fairfield
Participants in the Greater Jefferson County Fair Parade enjoyed a comfortable stroll through downtown Fairfield Tuesday evening to kick start a week full of fun fair activities.
This year’s parade was different from years’ past because it followed a new and shorter route. Instead of starting at the fairgrounds, it began much closer to downtown, in the parking lot of the Fairfield Arts & Convention Center.
Later that evening, the Fairfield Municipal Band entertained onlookers with its first summer concert of the season. The band will perform five more concerts this year, at 8 p.m. on Tuesdays in the Ron Prill Bandstand every week except July 4.
