Jesse Lloyd Stout, 85, of Washington, Iowa, died today, Monday, April 7, 2003, in Washington.
The funeral will be held at 10 a.m. Friday at Jones-Eden Funeral Home in Washington, with the Rev. Richard Boyd officiating. Burial will be in Elm Grove Cemetery in Washington.
Visitation will begin at noon Thursday at the funeral home, with the family present from 4-7 p.m. A Rebekah Lodge service will take place

Jesse Lloyd Stout, 85, of Washington, Iowa, died today, Monday, April 7, 2003, in Washington.
The funeral will be held at 10 a.m. Friday at Jones-Eden Funeral Home in Washington, with the Rev. Richard Boyd officiating. Burial will be in Elm Grove Cemetery in Washington.
Visitation will begin at noon Thursday at the funeral home, with the family present from 4-7 p.m. A Rebekah Lodge service will take place at 7 p.m. Thursday at the funeral home.

Mr. Stout was born July 21, 1917, in Washington, the son of Jesse Thomas Wallace and Daisy McGee. His mother died in childbirth and he was adopted by Taylor and Glennie Goodman Stout. He married Bonnie Louise Elmore March 11, 1939, in Freeport, Ill. She died in 1986.
Mr. Stout was a life resident of Washington County. He spent his childhood on a farm northeast of Brighton. He attended country school and graduated from Brighton High School. He later attended Parsons College. He farmed for 42 years in the Havre community and drove a semi truck in the winter months. Most recently, he drove for Burke Cleaners in Washington.
Mr. Stout was active in Odd Fellow Encampment No. 6. He joined the lodge in 1945. He held many offices at the local and state level. He also was a member of Rebekah Lodge, joining in 1978 and attended meetings faithfully.
Survivors include three sons, Lloyd Stout and wife Luz Stell of Denham Springs, La., Douglas Stout and wife Hannah Sue of Washington, and Stephen Stout and wife Diana of Washington; 11 grandchildren; six great-grandchildren; and one sister, Vermiella Jarvis of Washington.
Besides his wife, he was preceded in death by his parents; and one grandson.
