The Jefferson County Farmers and Neighbors (JFAN) will be holding its annual meeting that focuses on the protection of Jefferson County communities.
The meeting also will cover regenerative agriculture, including animals as part of diverse farm systems, to create a better alternative for communities and the environment.
People can take part in both events featured in the two-part program.
Part one is the Car Caravan on Saturday, Oct. 30 at 2 p.m.
Community members can join JFAN members on a tour of factory farms operating around the county.
JFAN Executive Director Diane Rosenberg and JFAN board members Dr. John Ikerd and Francis Thicke will narrate a tour during the event.
The participants will have the opportunity to enjoy the history and facts about each location featured on tour.
The caravan is a fundraiser, with participation through a donation of $100 or more for each vehicle participating.
Part two, the Virtual JFAN Annual Meeting, will take place on Wednesday, Nov. 10 at 7 p.m.
This free meeting includes presentations by JFAN Executive Director Diane Rosenberg and JFAN Board Members Dr. John Ikerd, Jocelyn Engman, Francis Thicke, including a talk on regenerative alternatives.
If participants miss the caravan and tour, they will have the opportunity to see it. It will be presented during the meeting.
