Johanna Van Trump, 86, of Mt. Pleasant, formerly of Chicago, Ill., died on Monday, Sept. 22, 2014, at the Great River Hospice House in West Burlington.
A funeral service will be held at 2 p.m. on Friday, Sept. 26, 2014, at Memory Gardens Cemetery, 2501 E. Euclid, Arlington Heights, Ill. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service at the Memory Gardens Chapel. A memorial has been established to ...

Johanna Van Trump, 86, of Mt. Pleasant, formerly of Chicago, Ill., died on Monday, Sept. 22, 2014, at the Great River Hospice House in West Burlington.
A funeral service will be held at 2 p.m. on Friday, Sept. 26, 2014, at Memory Gardens Cemetery, 2501 E. Euclid, Arlington Heights, Ill. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service at the Memory Gardens Chapel. A memorial has been established to the Great River Hospice House, 1306 S. She was born on May 7, 1928, in Ramming, Germany. She was the daughter of Joseph Eugene and Johanna (Schiutzer) Baur. She attended school in Germany. On Nov. 16, 1953, she married Norman Van Trump at the St. Elizabeth Church, in Ulm, Germany. They moved to the United States in 1954 and resided most of their lives in the Chicago area.
She worked as a housekeeper and a cook. She was of the Catholic faith. Her hobbies included playing cards, bingo, cooking and gardening.
Survivors include her sister, Hedwig Baur, of Langenau, Germany; and her brother, Erwin (Anna Marie) Baur, of Jettingen-Scheppach, Germany.
Preceding her in death were her parents; husband, two brothers, August and Eugen; and a sister, Franchesca, in childhood.
