Journal closed for Independence Day holiday
Americans will celebrate their independence tomorrow. They will probably want to spend much of the day in an air conditioned room since the thermometer could hit triple digits. Public buildings will be closed tomorrow in honor of the national holiday.
The Washington Evening Journal will be closed all day Wednesday and will not deliver a paper. Normal business hours, from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m., will resume Thursday.

The Washington Evening Journal will be closed all day Wednesday and will not deliver a paper. Normal business hours, from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m., will resume Thursday.
All city offices in all the towns in the county will be closed. City offices in Washington will be closed Wednesday but will run normal hours today, Thursday and Friday. To report a problem with a traffic light or any other concern with public property, contact the Safety Center at 653-2107.
The Washington Free Public Library will close Wednesday but have normal hours, 9 a.m. to 8 p.m., today and Thursday.
All Washington County offices will be closed Wednesday but resume normal hours Thursday and Friday.
Washington County Minibus will not operate its routes Wednesday. It will resume normal routes Thursday.
The Washington County Development Center will be closed Wednesday and will also resume normal hours the following day.
The Washington County Education Conservation Center is normally closed Wednesdays and will remain so tomorrow. It will return to normal hours the rest of the week.
