Arrests
An officer reported a subject in the lobby to turn himself in on a Washington County warrant, Wednesday afternoon at Lexington Boulevard in Washington. Nathan Michael Kleopfer, 35, of Washington, was arrested on a Washington County warrant for violation of parole on an original charge of possession of methamphetamine with intent to deliver. There was no bond; pickup/ statewide or 200-mile radius, whichever was farthest. A Washington County officer served the warrant and paper service. The warrant was cleared from the system.
Traffic accident
Jessica Heaston, of Fairfield, was cited Wednesday for failure to provide proof of financial liability accident-related and failure to maintain control. This was in reference to a single-vehicle accident that occurred on July 13 at 220th Street in Washington.
A caller Wednesday afternoon at Highway 92 in Keota reported that she went off in the south ditch somewhere between West Chester and Keota. There were no injuries. An officer responded. The vehicle was in a corn field. The officer was able to drive the vehicle out. The incident was documented.
Disabled vehicles
A caller Wednesday night at West Madison Street in Washington reported a vehicle that was broken-down in the roadway. Two officers responded. The officers assisted them in moving the vehicle from the roadway.
Animal complaint
A caller Wednesday morning at Highway 218 and 150th Street in Riverside reported two black cows in the median. An officer responded. Upon the officer's arrival, the owners were on the scene. The cows were put back in.
Civil standby
An officer reported being out with a civil standby, Wednesday night at 335th Street in Brighton. Items were retrieved without incident.
Intimidation/harassment
A caller Wednesday evening at East Madison Street in Brighton reported being threatened by a subject over a vehicle. An officer spoke with the caller. It was a civil issue over a vehicle. They were going to meet in Cedar Rapids and exchange the property.
Suspicious activity
A caller reported suspicious activity, early Thursday morning at North Seventh Avenue in Washington. Two officers responded and checked the property and the area and were unable to locate anything suspicious.
Vandalism
A caller Wednesday afternoon at Highway 218 and Vine Avenue in Ainsworth reported that a DOT message board was hit. The incident was documented.
Welfare check
A caller Wednesday night at 150th Street in Kalona requested a welfare check on their husband. They could not reach them by phone. An officer responded and made contact with the husband.
All other theft
A caller Wednesday morning at Third Street in Wellman reported the theft of a thick black bike seat off a bicycle. An officer was advised for documentation.
All other offenses
A caller Wednesday evening at Coppock Road in Washington reported that a 2-year-old in a T-shirt and a diaper ran out into the roadway in front of her vehicle. The caller requested a deputy. An officer spoke with the 10-year-old female who was supposed to be watching the 2-year-old. She was going to watch him better.
