Traffic accident
A caller Sunday morning at Highway 92 and Larch Avenue in Washington reported that a male subject put his vehicle in the ditch. He fell asleep while driving. He said he was fine. The vehicle was then out of the ditch and on the south side of the road. An officer responded. The vehicle was towed by Moore's at the owner's request. Damages amounted to more than $1,500. A state accident report will be filed.
A caller Sunday afternoon at Spruce Avenue and 220th Street in Washington reported hitting a deer with a Dodge Dart. The vehicle was drivable. The information was documented.
A call was received Monday morning about a traffic accident, at Ginkgo Avenue in Welllman.
Disabled vehicles
An officer reported a vehicle in the business parking lot that appeared to be disabled, Sunday morning at North Marion Avenue in Washington. The officer spoke with the owner, who was going to have the vehicle towed for repair. The business management was aware.
A caller Sunday evening at Spruce Avenue and Highway 92 in Washington reported that an older car broke down north of the highway. An officer responded. The vehicle operator's family was responding with a new tire to get the car moved.
Assault
A caller Sunday night at A Avenue in Kalona reported being scratched by their guardian. An officer responded. The juvenile was provided a ride back to their residence.
Fire calls
A caller early Monday morning at North Fifth Avenue in Washington reported a fire alarm. Two officers and Washington Fire responded. Units were disregarded. There was no fire.
Barking dog
A caller Sunday afternoon at South 12th Avenue and East Harrison Street in Washington reported that a dog was barking at the house on the corner, and requested that an officer check on it. The officer was unable to locate a dog barking in that area.
Disorderly conduct
A caller Sunday afternoon at South Iowa Avenue in Washington reported being in a dispute with their child over medication. Two officers responded. The conflict was resolved.
Family offense nonviolent
A caller Sunday morning at 11th Street in Wellman reported that her husband was at the house causing problems. The caller requested a deputy. An officer spoke with the caller. The male subject left the area before the deputy's arrival.
Search warrant
A deputy reported executing a search warrant, Sunday night at East Second Street in Washington. The search warrant was executed.
Vandalism
A caller Sunday afternoon at Highway 78 in Brighton reported that a male subject in a brown car pointed a shotgun out of the window and shot their mailbox. Units responded. Additional damage was done to a demo car. Attempts were made to locate the vehicle. A report will be filed.
A caller Sunday night at East Madison Street in Washington reported that a subject had keyed her car. An officer spoke to all parties involved. Kylee Jo Sotelo, 18, of Washington, was cited for fourth-degree criminal mischief.
Welfare check
A caller Sunday afternoon at East Second Street in Washington requested a welfare check on her ex-husband. Two officers responded and were unable to locate the subject at the residence. The subject was later located by officers at the residence.
