Traffic accident
A caller Wednesday morning at East First Street in Riverside reported that a black semi with a white enclosed trailer took the corner too close and struck a customer vehicle. The semi did not stop, and continued on eastbound. An officer responded. A state report will be filed.
A caller Wednesday evening at Highway 218 and 320th Street in Crawfordsville reported a car in the ditch. A truck and trailer were sitting alongside the road. An Iowa State Patrol officer checked the area and was unable to locate the vehicles.
Traffic other
A caller Wednesday afternoon at East Washington Street in Brighton reported a vehicle parked for a week, covered in mud, across from City Hall by the park. An officer tagged the vehicle and was going to check back. The vehicle owner called to advise that the vehicle was moved.
Disabled vehicles
A disabled vehicle was reported, Wednesday night at Highway 218 and the Highway 92 ramp in Ainsworth. No one was around. The vehicle was added to the system.
DP & Q
A caller early Thursday morning at Highway 1 in Washington reported loud music coming from the business night shift workers. Two officers responded and spoke with the workers, who advised that they would turn the music down.
Stolen property
An officer reported being out with a vehicle, Wednesday night at Highway 218. The vehicle was stolen out of Keokuk County. They were notified and made arrangements for the owner to pick up the vehicle.
Suspicious activity
A caller Wednesday morning at East Washington Street in Washington reported suspicious activity. The report is under investigation.
Welfare check
A caller Wednesday afternoon at North Marion Avenue in Washington requested a welfare check on a subject who was yelling and cursing at passing vehicles. An officer and an ambulance responded. The ambulance transported the subject to the University of Iowa Hospitals, arriving at 5:37 p.m.
Numerous callers reported a male lying down in the median, Wednesday afternoon at Highway 218 and 150th Street in Riverside. An officer responded and requested medical attention. Riverside QRS and a Washington County ambulance responded. Medical units were disregarded by the officer. Charges will be filed on Carl Gilbert Peterson Jr., 63, of Dubuque, for public intoxication, first offense.
A caller Wednesday night at South Ninth Avenue in Washington reported that he could not get hold of his wife and two children, and requested a welfare check. An officer spoke with a 16-year-old at the residence. She would be back later Wednesday night.
A caller Wednesday night at Eighth Avenue in Wellman requested a welfare check on a subject in Wellman after a report of a verbal domestic dispute. An officer responded. The subject was not at work. An additional officer made contact with them at their residence. Keokuk County was advised.

A caller Wednesday morning at West Columbus Street in Crawfordsville reported a theft. An officer spoke with the caller. A report will be filed.
A caller Wednesday morning at Highway 1 in Washington reported the theft of a dealer paper plate off a Beast moped. An officer responded. A report will be filed.
All other offenses
A caller Wednesday evening at East Washington Street in Washington requested assistance with a child exchange. There was a dispute over a piece of property, and there was a no-contact order. An officer responded. The property dispute was civil.
A caller Wednesday night at North Avenue B in Washington reported locating items in their yard that did not belong to them. An officer responded and retrieved the items.
A caller Thursday morning at South Marion Avenue in Washington reported that a small child in only a diaper was just at his door and was then walking north. No adults were around. A few minutes later, at 5:45 a.m., the caller reported that the child was then at McDonald's. An officer responded and transported the child to his residence.
