The at-home reading program requires kindergarten through fifth-grade students to read outside of school and return slips signed by parents, stating the number of minutes read, which totaled 125,000 for the month. Since October, students have read a total of 505,000 minutes, and the program continues through April.
Washington school principal Joe Carr said parents have been very supportive of their children?s reading.
