Arrests
An officer reported stopping a vehicle, Sunday afternoon at Highway 92 in Washington. Kadin Elijah Schiebel, 18, of Washington, was arrested on charges of no drug tax stamp and possession of controlled substance with intent to deliver. An officer responded to the jail for DRE testing. Charges are pending for operating while intoxicated.
Des Moines County reported being out with a subject wanted out of Washington County, Sunday evening at North Third in Burlington. Steven James McIntosh, 36, of Burlington, was arrested on a Washington County warrant for mittimus on an original offense of driving while barred as a habitual offender. There was no bond; the subject must serve 20 days. A Washington County officer transported the subject to the Washington County Jail, and the warrant was cleared from the system.
Traffic accident
A caller Sunday morning at Highway 1 in Brighton reported that a minivan hit a truck head-on, north of Brighton on Highway 1. Injuries were unknown. All units responded. There was no medical transport. Vehicle operators were Janice Miller, of Brighton, and Joel Tresslar, of North Liberty. Damages to vehicles was more than $1,500, and a state accident report will be filed. Moore's was requested for one of the vehicles. Miller was cited for driving on the wrong side of a two-lane highway.
A caller Sunday afternoon at Highway 218 at Riverside reported a car-vs.-deer accident at Mile Marker 78. The vehicle was a silver 2014 Hyundai, operated by Breanna Delores Smith of Montrose. There were no injuries to vehicle occupants. The deer was final. The vehicle was able to be driven off, and the operator was given a state accident report.
Traffic other
A caller Sunday night at 133rd Street in Wellman reported that a semitrailer rolled onto a parked car on private property. No one was inside of the vehicles, and there were no injuries. Two officers responded. The semi was picked up by a wrecker. Information was exchanged. The incident was documented.
Disabled vehicles
An officer reported a disabled vehicle, Sunday afternoon at Highway 92 in Ainsworth. It was unoccupied and was added to the system.
An officer reported being out with a disabled vehicle, Sunday evening at 170th Street and Highway 1 in Washington. The car was unoccupied and had a broken window. The officer tagged the vehicle and added it to the system.
An officer reported being out with two vehicles, early Monday morning at Highway 22 in Riverside. Subjects were fishing. There were no issues.
Assault
A caller Sunday night at East Main Street in Brighton reported being assaulted. Three officers responded. Parties separated for the night. The incident was documented.
Disorderly conduct
A caller Sunday afternoon at South Sixth Street in Kalona reported that their sister was out of control and threatening the family. Two officers responded. The juvenile was transported to her father's residence.
DP & Q
A caller Sunday night at South Avenue B in Washington reported loud music coming from a residence. An officer responded. They turned the music down.
Intimidation/harassment
Juvenile subjects called 911, Sunday morning at South Marion Avenue in Washington, and stated that they were being harassed by some subjects near the church. They then hung up the phone. An officer responded and spoke with some subjects in the area.
Runaways/missing person
A caller Sunday night at South Wiley Boulevard in Washington reported a runaway juvenile in Pizza Ranch. An officer responded and transported the juvenile home.
A caller Sunday night at West Main Street in Washington reported being out in the park with a juvenile who ran away from home. Two officers responded and transported the juvenile to his residence. The juvenile was cited for curfew about three hours later, early on Monday morning, when he was located at Sunset Park after he ran away again.
Trespass
A caller Sunday morning at A Avenue in Kalona reported that her daughter saw a flash through her bedroom window about 11 p.m. the previous night, and was thinking that someone took a picture. Documentation was made.
All other offenses
A caller Sunday afternoon at East Washington Street in Washington reported that there was a small girl in the street who was almost struck by a vehicle. The caller requested an officer. An officer drove by and didn't see anyone outside. A second officer found the residence and advised them of their children's being in the street.
A deputy reported conducting an interview with a subject who failed to appear for mittimus, Sunday night at Lexington Boulevard in Washington. The subject was interviewed, and the information was passed on to the county attorney.
