Arrests
An officer reported being out at a residence checking on a wanted person, Friday morning at East Main Street in Brighton. Tanner J. Waterhouse, 24, of Brighton, was arrested on a Washington County warrant for violation of probation on OWI, third offense. Bond was $10,000 cash only.
An officer reported arresting a subject wanted on a warrant out of Washington County, Friday evening at West Skillman in Sigourney. Craig Allen Lillie, 23, of Sigourney, was arrested on a Washington County warrant for serious injury by vehicle and operating under the influence, first offense. Bond was $6,000. The subject was transported to Washington County Jail, arriving at 5:53 p.m.
A caller early Saturday morning at North Railroad Street in Ainsworth reported a subject passed out on his front steps. The caller did go and check on the subject while on PBS, and she was speaking to him. An officer responded and arrested Stephanie Nichol Knerr, 32, of Ainsworth, on a charge of public intoxication.
Traffic accident
A caller Friday afternoon at Ginkgo Avenue in Wellman reported a one-vehicle rollover accident. The driver was out of the vehicle and feeling dizzy. Wellman QRS, Wellman Fire, a Wellman Rescue unit, an ambulance and an officer responded. The ambulance was disregarded. The accident was documented.
A caller Friday night at Highway 218 in Riverside reported hitting a deer on Highway 218, and requested documentation. An officer was advised for documentation purposes.
Traffic stop serious
An officer reported being on a vehicle stop with a silver Volkswagen Bug with no plates, early Saturday morning at North Sixth Avenue and East Second Street in Washington. An additional officer also responded. The subject was picked up by a valid driver. Christopher Nathaneil Lavarn Holt, 24, of Washington, was cited into court for driving while license under suspension, first offense.
Fire calls
A caller Friday afternoon at 270th Street in Washington reported a hog building on fire with flames showing. An officer, Washington Fire, Brighton Fire, Keota Fire, an ambulance and Alliant Energy responded. There was no ambulance transport. The fire was extinguished.
Animal complaint
A caller Friday morning at 140th Street in Kalona reported a larger yellow dog that was always running loose. It was friendly. An officer responded and was unable to locate the dog. A message was left on the neighbor's phone.
A caller Friday night at East Van Buren Street in Washington reported a stray dog behind his house. An officer responded and located the animal's owner, who took the animal back home.
Civil standby
A caller Friday morning at Fifth Street in Ainsworth reported needing a civil standby. An officer responded. The civil standby was completed.
A caller Friday afternoon at North Second Avenue in Washington requested a civil standby to exchange children. An officer responded and stood by for the exchange. One child chose to stay at the residence, and the other chose to go.
Sex offender
An officer reported a new sex offender registry, Friday morning at Seventh Street in Kalona.
Welfare check
A caller Friday evening at West Main Street in Washington requested a welfare check on his 12-year-old daughter. She wasn't answering her cellphone. An officer responded and made contact with the daughter. She was going to make contact with her father.
All other offenses
A caller Friday morning at Fifth Street in Kalona reported feeling threatened by someone's behavior. An officer spoke to the caller. Documentation was made.
A caller Friday morning at South Fourth Avenue in Washington reported juveniles setting off fireworks on school property on June 20 about 12:30 p.m. An officer responded. Documentation was made.
