Arrests
A caller Friday afternoon at Lexington Boulevard in Washington reported that an Iowa State Patrol officer was en route to the jail with a subject wanted by the State Patrol. Lisa Ann Cary, 55, of Walcott, was arrested on a charge of failure to appear for initial reference operating under the influence second offense. Bond was $1,000 cash or surety.
A deputy requested a warrant for a subject currently in the Clinton County Jail, Friday night at Seventh Avenue North in Clinton. A warrant was entered. Billy Edward Stage, 36, of Washington, was arrested on a Washington County warrant for failure to appear for mittimus on original charges of possession of methamphetamine first offense, and fifth-degree theft. There was no bond; the subject was to serve time. A detainer was placed with the Clinton County Jail.
Traffic accident
A caller Friday morning at Eighth Avenue in Wellman reported a two-vehicle accident in downtown Wellman. Vehicles were a GMC Acadia and a Grand Prix. Vehicle operators were Kimberly Stout, of Wellman, and Vivian Troyer, of Wellman. Damages to vehicles amounted to more than $1,500. A state accident report will be filed.
Traffic other
An officer reported being out with a vehicle at East Washington Street in Washington Friday morning, after receiving a report of damage to it from issuing a parking ticket. An officer spoke to the vehicle owner. Documentation was made.
A caller Friday afternoon at North Second Avenue and East Main Street in Washington reported a stop-arm violation. An officer was advised. Documentation was made.
A deputy reported being out with a subject driving a four-wheeler on school property, Friday afternoon at North Fourth Avenue in Washington. The officer counseled the subject, and they were sent home.
Disabled vehicles
An officer Friday afternoon at North Iowa Avenue in Washington reported being out in reference to a disabled vehicle. The officer issued a citation to the vehicle and placed a 24-hour tow tag on the vehicle.
Animal complaint
A caller Friday afternoon at West Sixth Street in Washington reported that the neighbor's dog was in his yard. The neighbor then came over and started beating his own dog. The caller requested that an officer speak with them. An officer spoke with the dog owner, who retrieved the dog right after it left his yard. The problem was resolved.
A caller Friday night at East 13th Street in Wellman reported that her daughter's dog scratched someone. An officer responded. The dog actually bit the subject. A report will be filed. The dog was to be quarantined at the Washington Veterinary Clinic for 10 days.
A caller Friday night at Golf View Lane and Wayland Road in Washington reported a deer in the middle of the road. An officer responded and was unable to locate the animal.
A caller Friday night at 220th Street and Highway 218 in Ainsworth reported a deer in the roadway. An officer responded and removed the animal. An additional officer also responded. The vehicle that struck the animal was found a couple of miles north. The tow truck driver gave the occupants a ride home, and an officer transported the subjects' belongings. An officer gave the vehicle owner a state accident report.
An officer reported being out with an injured deer, early Saturday morning at Highway 22 and Orange Avenue in Kalona. The officer put the deer down and removed it from the roadway.
Disorderly conduct
A caller Friday night at West Van Buren Street in Washington requested an officer to the residence after a dispute with their realtor. Two officers responded. They were advised that they needed to go through the eviction process.
DP & Q
A caller Friday morning at Fir Avenue in Keota reported that sprayer planes had been taking off and landing near his residence and it was very loud and disruptive. An officer responded and spoke with a subject with the company, and they were advised of the complaint.
Intimidation/harassment
A caller Friday afternoon at Gingko Avenue in West Chester requested a deputy over a harassment about an airplane pilot. An officer responded. The suspect was advised to contact the FAA with further complaints about the crop-dusting pilot. Christopher Wulf, of Keota, was advised not to return to the business or have any contact with their employees.
Runaways/missing person
A caller Friday night at West Madison Street in Washington reported running away from home. Two officers responded and spoke with the juvenile subject. An officer gave the subject a ride to his father's place of work. The juvenile ran away a second time. An officer located the juvenile and transported him to Four Oaks in Iowa City.
Sexual assault
A caller early Saturday morning at East Washington Street in Washington reported a sexual assault. An officer was going to pass the case on to the appropriate department. The report was under investigation.
Suspicious activity
A caller Friday morning at Highway 92 in Washington reported that a male subject was asking people for money. He was with a female subject next to a vehicle that had a flat tire. An officer responded and spoke to the male subject, who would be on their way.
Trespass
A caller Friday afternoon at East Madison Street in Brighton reported that the neighbor was trespassing on their property again. He was currently in the shop. The caller requested a deputy. An officer spoke with the subject, who was advised that he was no longer allowed on the property. He would have to go through small claims to get the rest of his items back.
A caller Friday night at Highway 1 in Washington reported a vehicle with a trailer on the back side of the building. Two officers responded and were unable to locate the vehicle or the trailer.
Vandalism
A caller Friday afternoon at Second Street in Wellman reported that a window on their truck topper was shattered. An officer responded and advised the caller of some freshly mowed grass. The window was possibly shattered by a rock from the mower. The caller knew the neighbor, and they would work it out.
Welfare check
A caller Friday evening at North Main Street in Washington reported needing a welfare check on a subject in Washington County. Two officers responded and checked on the subject. He was OK and was staying with a family member that night.
