Arrests
A caller Saturday morning at South Mulberry Street in New Sharon reported that their officer was out with a wanted subject from Washington County. Ryan Craig Montgomery, 28, of New Sharon, was arrested on a Washington County warrant for second-degree sexual abuse. Bond was $25,000. Two Washington County officers transported the subject to the jail. The warrant was cleared from the system. A Washington County officer served the warrant.
An officer reported being out with a wanted subject from Washington County, Saturday morning at High Avenue E in Oskaloosa. Lucas Benjamin Anderson, 21, of Rose Hill, was arrested on a Washington County warrant for second-degree sexual abuse. Bond was $25,000 cash only. The subject was transported to the Washington County Jail. The warrant was canceled from the system.
A caller Saturday afternoon at High Avenue E in Oskaloosa reported that they had a deputy out with a wanted subject out of Washington County. Parker Jay Davis, 21, of New Sharon, was arrested on a Washington County warrant for second-degree sexual abuse. Bond was $25,000. The subject was transported to the Washington County Jail and the warrant was canceled from the system.
A caller early Sunday morning at Highway 218 in Riverside reported that a vehicle drove into the ditch on Highway 218 northbound approximately at Mile Marker 77. Three Washington County officers, a Washington County ambulance, Riverside Fire and QRS responded. Riverside disregarded the ambulance. There were no injuries. Teresa Lynn Shepherd, 48, of Washington, was arrested on a charge of operating while intoxicated first offense. Moore's was contacted to remove the vehicle. It was entered as towed, to be released upon payment of the tow bill.
Traffic stop serious
An officer reported being at a vehicle stop with a gray Dodge truck with no license plates, early Sunday morning at East Washington Street in Washington. Andrew Lowell Boone, 34, of Wayland was cited for driving under suspension third offense.
Traffic other
A caller Saturday afternoon at East Seventh Street in Washington reported motorcycles blocking both handicap stalls in the parking lot, and requested an officer. Two officers responded. The motorcycles were moved.
Disabled vehicles
A caller Saturday morning at South Ninth Avenue and East Van Buren Street in Washington reported that his car broke down at an intersection and it was partially blocking the roadway. The vehicle was a dark gray Saturn. An officer responded. The vehicle was pushed off the travel portion.
A deputy reported being out with a disabled vehicle, and advised that they did not need assistance, Saturday night at 230th Street and Highway 1 in Washington.
A deputy reported being out with a disabled vehicle, early Sunday morning at Highway 218 in Riverside. The officer added the semi and the trailer to the system.
Animal complaint
A caller Saturday morning at Larch Avenue and 130th Street in Kalona reported that dogs got in with his goats, and there were several dead and injured. The dogs took off into the timber. The caller requested a deputy. An officer spoke with the caller. The dogs may be wild. He was given his options of what to do if he should see them on his property again.
A caller Saturday morning at Larch Avenue and Highway 92 in Washington reported that someone hit a deer 1 mile west of Highway 1 on Highway 92, and it was still alive. An officer checked the area and was unable to locate the deer.
A caller Saturday morning at Highway 92 in Washington reported that there was a dog in a car in the parking lot. The vehicle was a gray Toyota van. The caller called back to advise that the subjects were getting into their vehicle, and the officer could disregard.
A caller Saturday night at West Main Street in Washington reported a dog running loose at Sunset Park. An officer was unable to locate the animal.
Disorderly conduct
A caller Saturday morning at E Place in Kalona reported that her neighbors were fighting. The caller could hear yelling and pounding or stomping. It shook the whole house. She could only hear the male's voice. The situation was verbal only. The female party had left before the responding deputy's arrival.
Drug/narcotics violation
A caller Saturday morning at 105th Street in Riverside reported that she found some suspicious items in her residence. Two officers responded. A report will be filed.
Family offense nonviolent
A caller Saturday night at Lake Darling Road in Brighton reported having a verbal argument with her brother, who drove off after drinking. Two officers responded but were unable to locate the vehicle. About four hours later, at 3:30 a.m. on Sunday, the other party reported to Louisa County that they were assaulted. A Washington County officer spoke with the Louisa County deputy.
Intimidation/harassment
A caller Saturday night at West Main Street in Washington reported being harassed. An officer called the subject and gave her some options to handle it.
Runaways/missing person
A caller Saturday night at East Madison Street in Brighton reported that their son walked away from home. An officer located the subject and transported him home.
Stolen property
A caller Saturday morning at East Washington Street in Washington reported that he purchased a power inverter on Facebook Marketplace. When he took it to have it worked on, the company advised that the owner reported it as stolen. It was purchased two months earlier. The caller provided the serial number. The item was not listed as stolen in NCIC. The information was documented for the time being.
Trespass
A caller Saturday morning at North Iowa Avenue in Washington reported thata female who used to live with him came into his residence without permission. She had left. The caller requested to speak with an officer. An officer spoke with the caller. The information was documented. The caller was going to pursue a no-contact order.
A caller Saturday afternoon at West Main Street in Washington reported that several subjects were drinking with her boyfriend, and then her boyfriend was in the apartment and might try to assault her. The caller requested an officer. An officer spoke with both parties. The male subject left. If he returned, she might call back.
All other theft
A caller Saturday morning at Kiwi Avenue in Brighton reported that a male subject took her pony from her property without permission. She located the pony in a trailer on Benton Street in Brighton. An officer spoke with all parties. It was a misunderstanding. The pony was returned to the owner.
All other offenses
A caller Saturday morning at East Second Street in Washington reported that he had a restraining order against him, and the protected party had called and texted him several times since he was served. The information was documented. An officer planned to consult with the county attorney's office on Monday.
A caller Saturday night at Fifth Street in Wellman reported hearing multiple gunshots in Wellman. Three officers responded. The officers were unable to locate any more sounds. The noise was possibly fireworks.
