Traffic accident
A caller reported a two-vehicle minor accident, Sunday afternoon at E Avenue in Kalona. Two officers responded. Vehicle operators were Stephannie Schrock, of Kalona, and Douglas Pratt, of Kalona. Damages amounted to less than $1,500, and drivers' information was exchanged.
A caller Sunday night at 230th Street and Nutmeg Avenue reported that his vehicle was stuck in the ditch. An officer and Moore's Towing responded. Moore's was able to tow the vehicle out of the ditch. There was no damage to the vehicle.
Traffic other
A caller Sunday afternoon at West Washington Street in Brighton reported that the carnival workers had trailers and campers parked in front of the driveway to his business, and he wanted them moved right away. An officer responded. Trailers and vehicles were moved down toward the bank. The caller put up cones to keep the drive from being blocked.
A caller Sunday night at East Washington Street in Washington reported a blue four-door car parked on the roadway facing the wrong direction. An officer responded. The vehicle was gone upon the officer's arrival.
Disabled vehicles
An officer reported being out with a disabled vehicle, Sunday night at Highway 218 in Riverside. The vehicle ran out of gas. The officer provided the driver a ride to the gas station to purchase fuel.
A deputy reported being out with a disabled vehicle, Sunday night at Highway 218 and the Highway 22 ramp in Riverside. The operator was moving a turtle from the roadway.
An officer early Monday morning at Highway 1 in Washington reported being out with a disabled vehicle. The driver was moving equipment. Everything was fine.
Assault
A caller Sunday night at South Marion Avenue in Washington reported two females fighting. The daughter assaulted the mother and left the area on foot. Two officers responded. They were unable to locate the daughter. The family was going to call back if she returned.
Burglary
A caller Sunday evening at North Avenue C in Washington reported that their house was broken into. Two officers responded. A 5-gallon bucket of paint was missing. The officer agreed to provide extra patrol. The incident was documented.
DP & Q
A caller Sunday afternoon at South 12th Avenue in Washington reported loud music coming from a residence nearby. The caller requested an officer, as this was an ongoing issue. An officer spoke with a subject at the residence, and they turned it down.
Fraud
A caller Sunday afternoon at Enterprise Drive in Riverside reported that a male subject came in with a fake ID and purchased alcohol. The clerk was almost certain he was under age. Two officers responded. The fake ID was confiscated.
Suspicious activity
A caller Sunday night at 320th Street in Richland reported that there were subjects at his residence who should not be there. He wasn't sure why they were there, and they would not speak to him. The caller requested a deputy. Two officers responded and were unable to locate anyone. The caller's daughter responded to be with him.
A caller Sunday night at West Street in West Chester reported receiving three suspicious phone calls. An officer spoke with the caller. They were provided their options, and deputies were going to provide extra patrol.
Trespass
A caller Sunday morning at Highway 92 in Washington reported a camper parked on the lot. The caller asked the subjects to leave and advised them that they could not park there, but they were still there. An officer responded. A subject was advised and did leave the property.
A caller Sunday night at East Madison Street in Washington reported that someone broke into his garage. Nothing was missing. An officer spoke with the caller. Documentation was made. It was an ongoing problem.
Welfare check
A caller Sunday morning at South Seventh Avenue in Washington requested a welfare check on the kids. An officer responded. There was no problem.
