Juniper bridge replacement complete

BRIGHTON — Juniper Avenue is back open to traffic, according to Washington County road officials.

The road’s crossing to 325th street east of Brighton was closed Jan. 10 for an over $240,000 project to replace the existing bridge with a twin 12’ by 8’ by 38’ reinforced concrete box culvert.

“The existing bridge is being replaced because it is currently posted with a weight restriction and is narrow, creating a detour for larger vehicles and equipment to get around in the area,” an announcement from the Washington County Engineer’s Office said early in the year.

The county announced the road’s reopening Thursday afternoon, around two weeks after the scheduled end date.
