Three juveniles have been charged with vandalism done around the square area downtown in Mt. Pleasant earlier this month.
Police Chief Lyle Murray said that officers were assisted by numerous business owners and residents who provided information and videos that led to three boys, two 14-year-olds and a 12-year-old. Murray said their names will not be released due to their ages.
All were charged with second degree criminal mischief. One of the youths, according to the chief, threatened to shoot up a school and made statements about blowing up an officer’s house. He has an added charge of threats of terrorism and harassment.
Murray said there are pending charges on two other juveniles.
Murray thanked those who helped police with the investigation.
“The quick conclusion was a direct result of the cooperation and assistance by our local community,” he said.
