Kalona to flush fire hydrants

KALONA — Fire hydrant flushing will take place from Tuesday, April 5 through Friday, April 8. Work is expected to start at 6 a.m. and end around 4 p.m.
“During these times, residents may experience low water pressure and/or water discoloration,” a statement from the city said.
The same is planned for Kalona Southtown and Richmond residents a few days later. For those neighborhoods, hydrant flushing will take place from Tuesday, April 12 through Friday, April 15, and is also expected to run from 6 a.m.-4 p.m. and affect water pressure and discoloration.
