The Kalona Area Chamber of Commerce had a small but lively parade through the streets of Kalona Saturday afternoon.
Chamber board member Katie Miller, who helped organize the first-ever Kalonacade, said that even though the parade was small, it was a success.
'Maybe we didn't have as many participants as we would have liked, but it was still successful,” Miller said. 'It was fun to see people come out and support the community.”
The Chamber invited local businesses and organizations to create floats and participate in the informal parade.
Miller said about 12-15 groups took part in Saturday's Kalonacade.
'I think we may have had a few more jump in toward the end of the parade,” Miller said.
Next up for the Kalona Chamber is Christmas in Kalona, which is tentatively scheduled for the first week in December.
'We're in the process of planning Christmas in Kalona,” Miller said. 'It will look a little different this year with social distancing, but we're still planning that.”
