Kathryn Lorraine Brokken Heston, age 84, died peacefully at her home in Scottsdale, Arizona surrounded by family on June 28, 2012. She was the beloved wife of the late Elton Heston and the loving mother of Douglas (Tricia), David (Sylvia), Ann Durand (Thierry), Jeffrey, Ellen Boll (John) and James (Kim). Kathryn Lorraine Brokken Heston, age 84, died peacefully at her home in Scottsdale, Arizona surrounded by family on June 28, 2012. She was the beloved wife of the late Elton Heston and the loving mother of Douglas (Tricia), David (Sylvia), Ann Durand (Thierry), Jeffrey, Ellen Boll (John) and James (Kim). She also doted over 15 grandchildren: Ian, Rachel, David, Jessica, Lauren, Mathieu, Jason, Justin, Josh, Corey, Ryan, Elizabeth, Zach, Andy and Geoff and great grand daughter Ellen Kathryn. Kathryn was the oldest of eight children. She was dear sister of the late Wallace Brokken (Lois), Dr. Ray Brokken (Donna), Helen Terrill (the late Larry), Rosalyn Kautz (the late Ray), Leo Brokken (Diane), Sonja Brokken, and Thomas Brokken (Karen). Kathryn is further survived by over 40 nieces and nephews.??Kathryn was born March 5, 1928 in Fairfield, Iowa. Her parents were the late Eivind Brokken and the late Mabel Brokken (Tilford). Mabel died several months after Kathryn was born. Eivind later married the late Anna Brokken (Leu) who lovingly raised Kathryn. She graduated from Fairfield High School in 1945. On April 23, 1950 Kathryn married Elton Heston and they resided in Iowa until 1955, when Elton took an engineering job in the St. Louis area. Elton died October 23, 1986. Kathryn got her real estate sales license in the mid 1970s and was a realtor in the St. Louis area for about 25 years. She greatly enjoyed hosting friends and family for home made meals, gardening, bird watching and rooting for her beloved St. Louis Cardinals baseball team - she either listened to or watched every game. After retiring from real estate she moved to Brookfield, Wisconsin for six years.??Visitation Fri. July 6, 10:00 am until 12:00 noon with service immediately following at Bopp Chapel, 10610 Manchester Rd., Kirkwood.
