Kenneth Louis Galle, 75, rural Montrose, died Sunday, Aug. 17, 2014, at his home.
Friends may call after noon p.m. on Friday, Aug. 22, at the Schmitz-Lynk Funeral Home in Donnellson where the family will meet with friends from 5 to 8 p.m. that evening. A rosary will be recited at 5:30 p.m.

Kenneth Louis Galle, 75, rural Montrose, died Sunday, Aug. 17, 2014, at his home.
Friends may call after noon p.m. on Friday, Aug. 22, at the Schmitz-Lynk Funeral Home in Donnellson where the family will meet with friends from 5 to 8 p.m. that evening. A rosary will be recited at 5:30 p.m.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 1 p.m. Saturday, Aug. 23, at the St. Joseph?s Catholic Church in Montrose. Burial will be at the Montrose Cemetery with a flag presentation by the Donnellson American Legion Post #474.
Memorials may be made in his memory to the Central Lee Sports Boosters or Montrose Riverfront Inc.

Born Feb. 25, 1939, in rural Montrose the son of Wilmer P. and Helen B. (Leeper) Galle. On Oct. 26, 1962, he married Marsha L. VanDever. She preceded him in death.
He was a 1956 graduate of Montrose High School. He then attended Keokuk Community College where he played on their 1958 men?s championship basketball team and graduated with an associates degree. He served in the Iowa National Guard. He was a member of St. Joseph?s Catholic Church in Montrose, the Donnellson American Legion Post #474, the Central Lee Sports Boosters and was involved with Montrose Riverfront Inc. He received the Governor?s volunteer award in 2008. Kenny began his career at Farm Service Elevator in Donnellson where he later became manager, he continued working the agricultural based industry with LDC, Double Circle and Merschman Seed Inc. and was a farmer. He was a Chicago Cubs and Iowa Hawkeye fan and enjoyed watching his family in Central Lee school events.
Survivors include three daughters, Barb (Leon) Schau of Donnellson, Diane (Bob) Burgess of Donnellson, and Chris Galle of Montrose; five grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; one sister, Mary Sue Galle of Montrose.
He was preceded in death by his parents; wife; and one brother, Edward Galle.
