Learning: 100 percent in-person
Face Coverings: Optional
The Keota Community School District will return to school on Aug. 24 with students 100 percent in-person, face coverings optional.
Although the school board does not make a final decision until Aug. 13, Superintendent Jim Henrich said the plan is not expected to change.
Students will return to classes with a variety of safety modifications implemented for students and staff. If families are not comfortable returning to school, they have the option to utilize remote learning.
Face coverings will be optional. The district will provide washable face masks for students and staff, but they can also provide their own.
Other safety modifications include sanitization of all computer labs, laptops and Chromebooks after each use. If a student is quarantined at home a device will be made available for the student's use.
If a staff member or student is found to be COVID-19 positive, they will have to quarantine for 14 days and contact tracing methods as outlined by the Iowa Department of Health will be used.
